udith Zweiman has been an active part of the New York and Long Island music scene since the 1970’s. She has performed and recorded with a legion of singer-songwriters such as Christine Lavin and Martha Trachtenberg. A former faculty member of The Guitar Workshop of Roslyn Heights, Judith later became a fixture in the Greenwich Village songwriter scene of the ‘80’s. Judith has recorded numerous times for Fast Folk Musical Magazine. Her song, Heart on Ice was covered by Shawn Colvin and Lucy Kaplansky. Her solo CD release is entitled Look at the Moon. Her poetry and writing have been published in Creations Magazine, the Performance Poets Association Anthologies, and Arcanum.
ver the last 21 years, Judith has performed as a duo with Duane Michael Tucker. Together tonight, they offered a well-rounded set of songs from classic folk tunes to sardonic compositions, taking turns as soloists.
udith was a star afternoon performer on last Summer's Huntington Folk Festival, where she wowed the crowd.
e were pleased to have Judith returning as a featured performer on the Hard Luck Café stage after an extended and overly long hiatus of eight years. This was a great opportunity to enjoy again the talents of this exciting folk performer together with Duane Michael Tucker.

KEN "The Rocket" KORB
nyone familiar with Long Island music venues has probably heard Ken Korb, a multi-instrumental performer of blues and folk music with a charming, humorous stage persona. Ken has recently partnered with ragtime fingerstyle guitarist Bruce MacDonald to create a distinctively antique-flavored modern blues duo; this pair so charmed the judges of the Annual Long Island Blues Challenge 
that they were voted to be the acoustic music representatives for the Long Island Blues Society at the Challenge in Memphis. As a member of the The American Primitive String Band and earlier as the musical partner of Little Toby Walker, he has achieved almost legendary status — he can make his harmonicas lie down and roll over!
onight Ken put on an unforgettable show with a wealth of friends and instruments, proving himself to be a dynamic tornado. Besides his virtuoso licks with his harmonicas, including using an oil can megaphone to amplify and deepen the tones, Ken treated us to exciting music as he accompanied his voice with his mandoline, or charmed on the pennywhistle or his one-man-band washboard decorated with a wealth of kooky musical sound makers!. He had friends join him on stage, Lora Kendall joining in prettily with fiddle or guitar, and Dee Harris blending in his super banjo rhythms. In one spectacular piece, Ken dominated a one inch miniature harmonica that he played hands free getting notes from both the left side and the right side and a beat with his tongue from the middle.
t's been nine years since Ken was a featured performer on our Hard Luck Café stage; we were pleased to welcome him back and experience his virtuosic versatility. This was an unforgettable evening of exciting music with this creative artist.
