John Hammond Blues Master
A Grammy Award winner and four time nominee, Hammond is also a multiple W.C. Handy award winner who has shared the stage and/or recorded with many of the masters, including Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf. John has recorded over twenty five albums and his passionate commitment to traditional blues made him the natural choice to host the BRAVO TV special and Sony Home Video, The Search for Robert Johnson. His 2003 release, Ready For Love, was produced by David Hidalgo of Los Lobos and is the perfect follow up to Wicked Grin, the acclaimed album produced by longtime friend Tom Waits and featuring all Waits' songs. Ready For Love features John's road band including Augie Meyers, Stephen Hodges, Frank Carillo and Marty Ballou playing an exciting variety of tracks including songs by George Jones, Tom Waits, David Hidalgo, Jagger and Richards, Willie Dixon, and a rare original by John himself. A legitimate treasure of American roots music, John Hammond has made other people's songs his own during his decades-long career. With his 2003 Back Porch Records debut, Ready for Love, the veteran bluesman ventured into new territory with his first-ever recorded composition, Slick Crown Vic. "My wife Marla gets the credit for the tune. She said, ‘listen, you gotta write a song.’ So, after about a year being told that, I wrote it. The tune was inspired by experiences I’ve had over the years - I once owned a 1955 Crown Victoria Ford and I did in fact drive into town and that kind of thing." ![]() |

Opening for John Hammond Acoustic trio ![]()
A New York Americana trio, they got their organic start at a late-night jam session during the 2004 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Laurie MacAllister, Abbie Gardner and Carolann Solebello were brought together by a love of traditional American music, old gospel, bluegrass, and the old-timey songs of contemporary artists like Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss. In April 2005, Red Molly released their debut recording, a 4-song EP that enjoyed enthusiastic reviews from audiences and critics alike. Each Molly brings her own background and experience to the group: Laurie (vocals, guitar, banjo) left a career in psychology in 1998 to pursue music, and toured as a backup singer for Cliff Eberhardt, who later produced her solo album. This album, called The Things I Choose To Do, was recently purchased by Barnes & Noble, and is being retailed in 2006 as a Barnes & Noble Exclusive.
Carolann (vocals, guitar, bass, mandolin) spent several years on tour as a professional theatre actor before releasing her solo album, Just Across the Water in 2000. She went on to release two additional albums with the quartet CC Railroad, called Smile Whatever and Black Horse Motel. They have opened for artists such as Aztec Two-Step, Cliff Eberhardt, Michael Smith, Bill Staines and Johnsmith, and are developing a loyal, devoted fan base in the Northeast. Abbie's Solo CD is Now Available! Honey On My Grave, features lots of Dobro, Laurie on harmonies and a special duet with FMSH favorite Pat Wictor. Others have praised:
