“Her songs feel at once fresh-faced and firmly rooted, driven by the whispery sensuality of her voice … [they] turn fear into resilience and isolation into community.”
  - The Boston Globe

“Brilliant. I have had this reaction once in the last 10 years and that was the first time I heard Patty Griffin.”
  - Dave Marsh, former music editor for Rolling Stone,
on Duvekot's Big Dream Boulevard album

German-born and Massachusetts-based singer/songwriter Antje Duvekot (pronounced Aunt-ya Doo-va-kott) won her first open mic competition in Philadelphia at the age of 18, and has been writing and recording music ever since. In 2000, she won grand prize in the John Lennon songwriting contest, and in 2006 she was named a winner in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Competition.

Duvekot solidified her reputation as one of Boston’s top singer-songwriters with her debut studio album Big Dream Boulevard, which was voted “#1 Folk Release of 2006” by The Boston Globe. In 2007, her song “Merry-Go-Round” was featured in a Bank of America marketing campaign which included a prized commercial spot on Super Bowl XLI.

ANTJE DUVEKOTA compelling live performer, Antje Duvekot has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, performing at the Newport, Philadelphia and Kerrville Folk Festivals, as well as on Mountain Stage. She has also headlined the Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and the Tinder Festival in Denmark. Wherever she appears, audiences are treated to Duvekot’s understated melodies, subtle phrasings and the conversational allure of her singing.

Duvekot's just-released album, New Siberia, was produced by singer-songwriter Richard Shindell and features guest appearances by several folk luminaries. Shindell, who also produced Duvekot's album The Near Demise of the Highwire Dancer, recalls that experience: "What a blessing to have worked with someone as talented as Antje. With a voice like hers, and songs as good as these, a producer just tries to get out of the way ... and let the artist speak for herself."
